Getting sick in America can wreak financial havoc on individuals and
families. This is certainly true for the 47 million people who have no health
insurance, but it can also happen when people are underinsured and when
insurance companies deny benefits for medical services they don't want to
cover.

Universal health care for all Americans would solve this problem. Like a fire
department, police department or public education, its benefits would be
available to everyone without denying people the right to purchase additional
 services if they so choose. Every advanced country in the world except the
U.S. provides free public health care for its citizens.

Please support Representative John Conyers, Senator Ron Wyden and
others in Congress who are fighting for universal health care for all
Americans.
