Congress approve taxpayer access to research

I suspect all Americans are as shocked as I to learn that the findings of
most research carried out with Federal government support - - that is, with
taxpayers' funds - - is not available, directly or indirectly, to the public.

Fortunately Congress is beginning to recognize this deplorable situation and
 to formulate legislation to rectify it, through action by the House
Appropriations Committee and several Senators.

I urge both the House and the Senate to enact the legislation to make these
research results publicly available.
