US attend Durban Human Rights Review Conference
This letter is has been retired and can only be searched from
Older Letters .
This letter supports a campaign of the US Human Rights Network. It goes
to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The Durban Review Conference, an activity of the 2001 World Conference
Against Racism (WCAR) Declaration and Program of Action, is the most
important forum for combating racism and racial discrimination.
Unfortunately, the Bush Administration withdrew from WCAR in 2001, and
has not participated in planning the Durban Conference.
Becoming fully involved with Durban is essential if the United States is to
take a leadership role in helping the global community combat racism.
Secretary Clinton, please use your office to ensure that the US will play an
active role in the planning and deliberations of the Durban Review
Conference.
Sincerely yours
