London bombings need peaceful response
This letter supports a campaign of the Friends Committee on National
Legislation (FCNL). It goes to President, Vice President, and Congress.
Dear: _________________
The tragic bombings in London sadly illustrate that the US ”war on
terrorism,” and especially the senseless invasion of Iraq, has made the
world's peaceful civilians less safe.
Innocent Iraqis are suffering from terrorist attacks every day. Some 50
equally innocent Londoners have died and hundreds have been injured. If
the US and Britain respond with more violence against this faceless enemy,
then more innocent civilians will lose their lives and their loved ones.
War is not the answer!
I urge Congress and the President to announce a plan for an orderly
withdrawal from Iraq and a massive effort to help Iraqis rebuild their
devastated country. That, not a harsh reaction, will begin to end terrorist
attacks.
Sincerely yours
