US plan Iraq withdrawal

This letter supports a campaign of the Friends Committee on National
Legislation. It goes to the President, Vice President, and Congress.

Dear: _________________

The ill-fated war in and occupation of Iraq is costing American taxpayers
vast sums needed for other priorities, and it seems to be doing more harm
than good for Iraq.

The US must make it clear to the Iraqi people, and the world, that we intend
to withdraw our troops at the earliest possible moment, that we promise to
help rebuild their devastated country, and that we have no intention of
maintaining armed forces there in the future.

I urge Congress to adopt a resolution calling upon the President to develop
and announce plans for withdrawing US troops and reassuring the Iraqi
people that we plan no long term involvement in their country's affairs.

Sincerely yours
