US help tsunami victims generously
This letter supports campaigns of both Moveon.org and Working Assets

Dear: _________________
The tsunami disaster in Asia has killed more than 225,000 victims and left
over 5,000,000 homeless and in pitiful condition. The world is galvanizing to
provide massive aid to these suffering peoples.
The US has now increased its promised contribution to $350 million -- a
welcome step up from the $35 million initially promised. But even this larger
contribution cannot be called generous; the vast scope of the devastation
demands that the world's wealthiest nation commit a much larger sum.
For a truly safe world, we should commit at least as much as we are
spending to rebuild Iraq.
I call on Congress and the Administration to provide at least $1 billion in
American aid to the tsunami victims immediately.
Sincerely yours

Interestingly enough, this letter became outdated today when the
administration announced that it had bumped up its aid package to $1
billion. subject to Congressional approval. I think the letter should be retired.
