Congress pass sound energy policy in 2005
This letter supports a campaign of the Public Interest Research Groups. It
goes to Congress.
Dear: _________________
We Americans waste too much energy and are overly dependent on oil and
other dirty fossil fuels. We deprive other nations of needed resources, we
pollute our air and waters, and the scientific evidence is indisputable that we
are changing the earth's climate in a harmful way.
Our country deserves a safe, clean, affordable energy future. But Congress
must set an energy policy that requires a growing production of energy
from renewable sources, increasing efficiency of motor vehicle and other
engines, reductions in global warming pollution, and general energy
efficiency standards.
I urge Congress to develop a bold new energy policy that will lead us into a
clean, sustainable, efficient new energy future
Sincerely yours
